I wanted to make you aware that the funding assistance for farmers’ markets that are new to accepting SNAP benefits deadline to apply has been extended. You have until Sept. 17, 2012 to apply for funding. You can find full details of the program at: http://procure.ohio.gov/proc/
Keep in mind, ‘Farmer’s markets must have a Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) Certification. FNS certification is defined for purposes of these funds as “farmers markets not currently participating in SNAP”. This is defined as farmers’ markets that did not have SNAP authorization on or before November 18, 2011, the date Public Law 112-55 was enacted. To prove certification status, the farmer’s market will need to provide their FNS Certification Number on their application.’
