The Ohio Farmers' Market Handbook:
Our farmers are hearing all kinds of rumors about regulations for selling lettuce next year. One thing they are concerned about is that they are hearing that they *may not* close bags of cut lettuce until after the customer has purchased it. This seems counter to efforts to reduce contamination. When the bags are sealed, the contents can not be touched, and nothing unplanned can be introduced into the bags.
I have looked at both the OPGMA and the OPMA sites and have not found anything that would help us to determine if this is true. Can you help?
Thanks!
